SALE OF STORE CATTLE
TUESDAY 11th MARCH 2025
Harrison & Hetherington held its monthly sale of Store cattle in Middleton in Teesdale market. A catalogued entry of 100 were presented to yet again a full ringside of buyers who travelled to purchase the quality of cattle in the area. The sale had an average age of 9 months old cattle with the days trade topping at £2040 for a single Limousin steer from JA, Robinson, Newhouse who sold a superb run of 10 to averaged £1860 with his run of 7 steers averaging £1930. Messer Watson, Stoney Hill sold 3 steers to averaged £1886.67 topping at £2020. Paul Johnston, Herdship sold a young pen of Luing cross steers to £1400. Heifers topped at £1900 from JA, Robinson, New house with Messrs Tarn, Toft House selling to £1860. A total steer average of £1707.30 was achieved +£475.08 while heifers averaged £1494.59 +£447.49 with the total sale being £467.73 up on 2024. Many more could have been sold to advantage.
