Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £2726.85 and 397.5p/kg was a Limousin cross cow from Messrs Acton, Leyburn.

Messrs Taylor, Gilts, Crosby Ravensworth sold a British Blue cross cow to make 351.5p/kg (£2228.51), with another British Blue cross weighing 857kg to make 289.5p/kg totalling £3010.13 was a six year old Limousin bull which weighed 1047kg and sold for 287.5p/kg from Messrs Owen, Sandwath Farm, Kirkby Stephen.

Trade was the dearest seen to date, with an overall average of 267.8p/kg and £1907.50 for all breeds and weights!!

The next sale of cast cows at Kirkby Stephen will be held on Monday 31^st March.
