STORE & BREEDING SHEEP SALE

MONDAY 7^th APRIL 2025

On Monday 7^th April Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and breeding sheep. A total of 506 head went under the hammer. Breeding sheep saw quality outfits a flying trade and the poorer end would be harder to cash. Topping the sale at £172 per head was a Suffolk 2 shear with a texel lamb at food from Dan Charnock, Millholme. T C Whiteford. Tercrosset sold a quality run of Suffolk and Texel cross 2 & 3 shear ewes with Texel lambs at foot topping at £162 per life for Texels and £155 per life for Suffolks averaging a staggering £148 per life for 20 outfits. M Ridsale & Son, Yew Tree sold Texel crosses with Texel lambs to £142 per life. Mules with twin Suffolk lambs sold to £112 per life from T A Watson, Hurlbarrow, Ponsonby.

Store hoggs sold beyond vendor expectations topping at £134 per head from R & R A Marrs, Manor Farm, Wigton the same good home sold a pen of 20 mules to £128. Hill cheviots sold to £124 from first time consignor Jack Fawcett, 5 Boon Town, Carnforth. Suffolks sold to £124 from Tom Howard, Lees Hall.
