Middleton In Teasdale Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 8^th April, Harrison & Hetherington held its monthly sale of Store cattle in Middleton in Teesdale market.

A catalogued entry of 80 were forward and were met with a rip roaring trade from start to finish. An average of £1640 was achieved for ages 7-10 month olds, with a smaller ringside of buyers in attendance owing to the good weather.

Topping the trade £1930 was Mr John Watson, Palletstone whose run of 9 averaged £1883.33. The same home topped the heifers, selling an 11 month old to £2260. Returning Vendor Andrew Atkinson, Market Place sold 7 superb steers and heifers to average £1780 and topping at £1920. Messrs Robinson, New House sold a run of 22 steers and heifers to average £1584.55, topping at £1880.

Many more could have been sold easily.
