On Monday 21st April Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store and breeding sheep. A larger show of 654 head of breeding sheep with lambs at foot a flying trade especially for top quality outfits with strong lambs. Topping the sale at £185 per life was a pen of 5 texel crosses with texel lambs at foot from TC Whiteford, Tercrosset. The same good home sold a pair of Suffolk crosses with Texel lambs to £174 per life, averaging £165.57 per life for 15 outfits. Finley Ivinson, Longrigg sold a Texel cross with shapey texel lambs at foot sold to £180 per life. J Irving, Luce Mains sold a fantastic consignment of texel cross ewes with big strong lambs at foot topping at £170 per life for a pen of 8 with 16 lambs and averaging £166 per life for 23 outfits. W N & J C Gillespie, Tedcastle sold a Suffolk cross with lambs at foot to £165 per life. R Lister & D Hird, Julian Holme, Gosforth sold texels with lambs at foot to £162 per life. Mule ewes with texel lambs sold to £138 per life from Clive Bennison, Leigh Croft. H L Whitefield, Batey Shields sold 18 mules outfits to £122 per life. Hill/Cheviots with Beltex x Lambs sold to £115 per life from L C Walton, Goodlie Hill, Great Asby
