Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep On Tuesday Evening Where 2,930  Sheep Consisting Of 2,457 Prime Hoggs, 461 Cast Sheep And 12 Spring Lambs.

Topping the sale at £222 where a pen of four 45kg hoggs from Messrs Hill & Wright, Mill Farm, Doncaster.

This home also sold a pen of five 43kg hoggs to make £217 (504.7p/kg), a pen of twenty seven 42kg at £204.50, and a pen of twenty two 41kg at £202.50 (493.9p/kg).

Topping at 536.6p/kg was a pen of fifteen 41kg hoggs which made £220 from JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats, York.

This home also sold a pen of sixteen 40kg hoggs to make £206 (515p/kg) a pen of fourteen 39kg at £200.50 (514.1p/kg) a pen of nineteen 41kg at £204.50 (498.8p/kg) and a pen of fifteen 45kg at £204.50.

Messrs Lancaster, Cold Coats Farm, Clitheroe sold a pen of four 42kg to make £211 (502.4p/kg).

Messrs Mason, East Farm, Malton sold a pen of fifteen 44kg hoggs to make £204.

Suffolk cross hoggs topped at £214 for three 70kg hoggs from Messrs Skelton, Newhall Farm, Maryport.

Messrs Towers, Scale House Farm, Lancaster sold a pen of four 64kg Suffolk cross hoggs to make £190.

Messrs Hetherington, Old Hall Farm, Penrith sold a pen of fourteen 70kg Suffolk cross hoggs to make £190.

Hill Cheviot hoggs sold to £182 for a pen of 62kg from Messrs Dawson, Mount Pleasant Farm, York with this home also selling a pen of nineteen 47kg Hill Cheviots to make £162.50 (345.7p/kg).

Messrs Skelton, Newhall Farm sold a pen of thirty two 53kg Hill Cheviot hoggs to make £172.

Blackfaced hoggs sold to £181 for a pen of 62kg from Messrs Dawson, Mount Pleasant Farm.

Messrs Skelton, Newhall Farm sold a pen of ten 57kg Blackfaced hoggs to make £179, with this home also selling a pen of twenty five 52kg Blackfaced Hoggs to make £160.

Messrs Towers, Scale House Farm sold a pen of twenty eight 38kg Blackfaced hoggs to make £134 (352.6p/kg).

Mule hoggs sold to £176 from Messrs Smith, Kelmore Hill Farm, Workington.

Messrs Skelton, Newhall Farm sold a pen of thirteen 57kg mules to make £170 (298.2p/kg).

Once again Kirkby Stephen achieved an unbelievable SQQ average of 395p/kg and an overall average of 344p/kg and £164.18 for 2457 Prime Hoggs which includes over 650 horned and mule hoggs!
