Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep On Tuesday Evening Where 3,038 Sheep Consisting of 2,573 Prime Hoggs, 490 Cast Sheep And 20 Spring Lambs.

Topping the sale at £210 and 538.5p/kg where a pen of thirty four 39kg Beltex cross hoggs from JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats, York.

This home also sold a pen of five 47kg hoggs to make £206 a pen of twenty one 40kg to make £201 (502.5p/kg) a pen of five 48kg to make £200.

The consignment of 114 hoggs from this home sold to average 42.3kg £200.87 (474p/kg).

Messrs Oldfield, Demense Farm, East Gisburn sold a pen of five 43kg hoggs to make £209 (486p/kg) this home also sold a pen of three 37kg hoggs to make £184 (497.3p/kg).

Messrs Hill & Wright, Mill Farm, Doncaster sold a pen of seventeen 42kg hoggs to make £200, a pen of eight 41kg at £199 (485p/kg) a pen of seven 43kg at £199 and a 37kg hogg to make £198 (535.1p/kg).

Messrs Mason, East Farm, Malton sold a pen of nine 44kg to make £202 with this home selling a pen of five 51kg to make £200.

Hill Cheviot hoggs sold to £170 for a pen of ten from Messrs Dawson, Mount Pleasant Farm, York.

Messrs Kiernan, Vale Farm, Preston topped the Hill Cheviots at 388.4p/kg for a pen of twelve 43kg which made £167.

An SQQ average of 346p/kg and an overall sale of 314.2p/kg was achieved with overall eight hundred hoggs being horned and mule hoggs!

Nine pens and 102 hoggs sold between £200 - £210.

Sixteen pens and 140 hoggs sold between 450 – 538p/kg.

Messrs Wilson, Jubilee Farm, York sold a pen of four Texel cross ewes to make £300 with other pens of ewes from this home selling to £300 for Blue Texels and £285 for two, £282 for a pen of five, and £282 for Texel ewes.

The 25 ewes from Jubilee Farm sold to average £274.09.
