Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 7^th May Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves with 443 forward.  A large show continues to sell easily

Trade topped today for a new record price of £1080 for a Simmental bull calf from CM & P Hall, Whitchester, Haltwhistle.  Also hitting £1000 was a fantastic Angus bull calf from J & R Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton, Castle Douglas.   Limousins sold to £970 from Wadsworth Farming, Newton Stewart.  B & H Johnstone, Castle Douglas topped the Blues at £960.  Thackwood Farms Ltd sold Blues to £960.

Heifers topped at £950 from Thackwood Farms for a fantastic Blue heifer.  Firm of JB Marshall, Auchenleck, Castle Douglas sold Blues to £900.  Wadsworth Farming sold to £890 for Limousins.  B & H Johnstone, Castle Douglas also sold Blues to £880.  Angus heifers sold to £750 from J & R Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton.

Black and whites sold to £455 from Messrs Reed, Mosside House, Wigton.  I & GM Blamire, Mid Whinnow sold two Friesians to £410.
