SALE OF STORE CATTLE

TUESDAY 6^th MAY 2025

On Tuesday 6^th May, Harrison & Hetherington held its monthly sale of Store cattle in Middleton in Teesdale market.

A catalogue entry of 100 went under the hammer to average a very respectful £1491.67. Trade not just as fierce as seen in recent sales however a trade to be proud of with a full ringside of buyers leaving customers satisfied with the days trading.

Before the sale the pre sale show took place with this year’s judge Mr Andrew Moralee, steeping up to do the honors. After looking over our cattle forward he placed his championship to the first price Lim x heifer from JC&J white, Rigg farm which later sold for top price of the day to £2200. The same home took the reserve championship for a British Blue steers which later sold to £1840. Top steer went to local legend Raymond Hutchinson, Dirt Pitt selling a Limousin steer to £1900.  This run 7 went on to average £1801.43.

A good day was had in Middleton market with buyers & sellers continuing this years success’s. Our next cattle sale is in October
