Borderway Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 21^st May Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  A total of 308 calves were forward at the weekly sale, which topped at £900 for a Limousin bull from G & SE Fox, Windy Hill. Aberdeen Angus bulls sold to £880 from B & H Johnstone, Nether Auchenreoch, Castle Douglas. J Walker & Son, Marlborough sold a Limousin bull for £865 and £840. TW Martin, Tempest Tower sold British Blue bulls to £860 and £850. Turnbull Farming, Penrith sold a 2 month old British Blue bull for £840. J Bailey, Moorhouse Hall, Wigton sold a 1 month old British Blue bull for £790.

Heifers topped at £830 for a British Blue bull from TW Martin, Tempest Tower. B & H Johnstone, Castle Douglas sold a Limousin to £815. A 2 month old Charolais from W Templeton, Glenlaugh, Dumfries made £780 (x2). G & SE Fox, Windy Hill sold a 2 month old Limousin at £770. Messrs Greenup, Crosshill sold a British Blue heifer at £780. KA & PJ Woodman & Son sold a pair of British Blues at £750.

Black & Whites sold to £530 for a pair from Wilson, Woodside Ltd. Ellaway Ltd, Elephant Farm sold Friesians to £495. A & J McCamley, Knockshiffnock, Cumnock sold a pair to £470.
