On Monday 26th May Harrison and Hetherington held their Bank Holiday Show and sale of Ewes and lambs along with the Show for Hoggs and lambs.

An entry of 850 head were forward with a continued strong ringside of buyers who despite the recent dry weather and lack of grass continued to ensure all classes were keenly bid for.  This year’s Judges known for looking for quality stock were Bryan and Zac Fell, Chapel Farm and after consideration awarded the Championship to the 1^st pen of Continental hoggs to  annual consignors Messrs Livingstone, Kirtlevale which later went to sell for £225 a life (£450).  The Reserve Championship went to the same home for the second prize pen of Continental hoggs which sold to £222 to The Fell family.  This run of 78 lives went on to average an incredible £196.36 a life topping at £250 a life for a pair.  James Winter, Clickham won with his pen of 5 Suffolk with Texel lambs which later sold for £180 a life.  Messrs Whiteford, Tercrosset sold a superb run of 40 Suffolk x Texel hoggs to average £192.45 topping at £228 for a pair of Texels.  The section for hoggs went on to average £161.87. 

A strong show of ewes and lambs were forward with an average of £115.31 being achieved.  Top price went to a 3 shear ewe with a single lamb from Messrs Browell, Quarryhouse selling to £185.  The same home also topped the shearlings with their First prize pen of Texel shearling going on to sell for £198 a life.  Mules with lambs topped at £128 for shearling with lambs from Messrs Richardson, Low Row, Alston.  A great day was had at Borderway.
