Kirkby Stephen OTM and Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of cast, OTM cattle and Stirks.

Topping the cast cows at £2168.04 and 304.5p per kilo was a 712kg Black & White cow from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Tebay and was purchased by Messrs Fell, Giggleswick.

Aberdeen Angus cows sold to £2136.75 and 277.5p per kilo for a 770kg from Messrs Bousfield, Cranberry with this home selling another Aberdeen Angus to weigh 753kg and making £2119.70 281.5p per kilo.

A eleven year old British Blue cow weighing 702kg to make £2018.25 and 287.5p/kg.

Storks / Store Cattle topped at £1665 for a British Blue steer from Messrs Wearing, Stephens Farm, Garsdale, with British Blue heifers from this home selling to make £1635.

Limousin steers sold to £1560 and £1530 from Messrs Owen, Sandwath Farm, Kirkby Stephen.
