Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 9^th June Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of Ewes and lambs in Borderway.  A larger show was forward with plainer outfits harder to cash, however the middle and top ends were a delight from start to finish with a total sale average of £111.43 being achieved.  Ewes and lambs topped at £150 for a 3 shear mule and single lamb from Gordon Hill, Crowdieknowe.  Hoggs and lambs topped at £170 for 3 Suffolk cross hoggs with Texel lambs from Charlotte Wilson, Evening Hill with this run of 18 averaging £163 a life.  Messrs Browell, Quarry House came with a superb run of 71 Beltex and Mule shearling which topped at £178 x2 for pens of 5 Beltex ewes with some outstanding cross lambs.  This run went on to average £154 a life.  Richard Lord, The Bog brought some wonderful mule shearlings with Texel lambs to average £129.67 topping at £138 per life.
