Borderway Store Cattle Sale

Borderway’s store cattle trade is defying all odds with a trade seen in no other mart.  A good entry of 350 store cattle forward at our weekly sale seeing a trade that would have to be seen to be believed.  Topping overall at £2560 was a 27 month old Limousin cross steer from Messrs Magney, Greenwrae, Gretna.  Messrs Story, Bankend, Carlisle sold best Aberdeen Angus to £2400 and Messrs Halliday, Broathill, Lockerbie sold best British Blue cross to £2400.  Two heifers from Messrs Graham, Carleton Hill, Carlisle sold to £2410.  Limousin to £2400 from Messrs Grice, Newtown Farm, and a Beef Shorthorn cross to £2300 from Messrs Spence, North Corrielaw, Lockerbie

Dairy bred cattle once again in big demand and were seen to top at £2280 for a 30 month old Holstein Friesian heifer from Messrs Stephenson, Winter Tarn, Penrith.
