Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 18^th June Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store bulls and weanling cattle which saw an increased entry of 291.  A very mixed show on offer with an increased entry of Dairy bred cattle forward.  A total of 107 bulls with the vast majority being aged 5-7 months.  However, Messrs Potts, Chapel House sold three 10 month Angus and Shorthorn bulls to £1900.  Messrs Horn, Lower Griseburn sold two Limousin year old bulls to £1710.  Messrs Pattinson, Bonshawside sold three 9 month bulls to £1650.  Messrs Mitchel, Grassknop sold a pen of 7 Holstein bulls to £1070.

A strong show of stirks were forward with quality selling to high rates.  The steer section topped at £1600 from TR & EA Milburn, Wallend whose run of five averaged £1410.  Messrs Graham, Laws Hall sold a run of 46 to average £956.30 topping at £1260.  Heifers topped at £1680 from Mr Ian Potts, Hedley Park whose run of seven averaged £1362.  Messrs Forster, Weary Hall sold twelve 12 month old Dairy bred Blues and Angus to top at £1530 and averaging £1474.
