Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 25^th June Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves. Trade topped at £1020 for a Charolais heifer from T & J Airey, New Grange, Dearham.  Bull calves topped at £910 for a 2 month old Charolais bull calf from K Park & Sons, Dalpeddar, Sandquhar.  AF Ramsey, Gilliespie, Newton Stewart sold an Angus bull to £850.  They also sold Blues to £750.  FJ & M Mattinson & Sons, Rosewain Farm, Wigton sold a tremendous two month Blue bull to £850.  J & W Baillie, Hillhead of Covington, Biggar also sold a 2 month Blue to £840.  Thackwood Farms, Carlisle sold Blues to £840, £790 and £760.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower, Carlisle sold a Blue to £805.  J & B Morley, Hadderdale, Appleby sold a pair of Blue bulls to £785 and another at £780.  K Park & Sons, Dalpeddar sold a 2 month Charolais at £770.  CM Kirkpatrick, Howthat, Lockerbie sold a 2 month Charolais heifer to £900.  Thackwood Farms sold a pair of Blue heifers at £780.  T & J Airey, New Grange, Maryport had a 2 month Charolais heifer at £780.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower, Carlisle had a Blue heifer at £780.  AF Ramsey, Gillespie, Newton Stewart sold a Simmental heifer at £755.  They also had an Angus at £750.  A V Elven, Netherfield, Carlisle sold a Blue heifer at £745.

Black & White sold to £685 for a Montbeliarde from AF Ramsey, Gillespie, Newton Stewart.  SJ & JE Ogden, Pears Ghyll, Penrith had 4 Holstein bulls at 3 month old to £530.  A & AE Harrison, Round Hill, Wigton sold a 2 month Friesian to £500.  J & B Morley, Hadderdale, Appleby sold a pair of Holstein to £490.
