Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday when 60 were forward.

Topping the sale at £1907.12 was a 861kg British Blue cross cow which made 221.5p/kg from Messrs Harryman, Keskadale Farm, Keswick which was bought by Owain Llyr, Wales.

Topping at 229.5p/kg was a 682kg British Blue cross cow which totalled £1565.19 also from Messrs Harryman and purchased by Owain Llyr.

The consignment of seven Limousin and British Blue cross cows from Keskadale sold to average 710kg 205.6p/kg and £1460.05.

Messrs Beckwith, New Hall, Barras sold a 11 year old cast Limousin Bull which weighed 1050kg and sold for 179.5p/kg totalling £1884.75 bought by Owain Llyr.

Also from this home was a 875kg British Blue cross cow which sold for 189.5p/kg grossing £1658.13.

Black & White cows topped at £1219.92 for a five year old Holstein/Friesian from Messrs Forrest, Low Rutter, Appleby.

A seven year old Holstein/Friesian cow also sold for £1159.13 from Low Rutter.

Another fantastic overall sale average of 157.68p/kg and £1113.12 was achieved.
