At Borderway Mart on Monday 17th May, Harrison & Hetherington held their sale of breeding sheep where trade remains strong although lack of growth remains evident.
Top price of the day was £166 for a Texel cross hogg with single lamb at foot; this was from Thompson Livestock Ltd who had forward a total of 30 heads averaging £137. A good consignment of mules were up to £128 per head from Messrs Miller, Tarn Lodge who averaged over £107 for their run of 13. Suffolks sold to £116 for a pen of 4 from Messrs Walton, Beech Holme.
With more grass week on week demand stays high for ewes and lambs, the next sale of breeding sheep at Borderway is Monday 24th May 2021.

Ewes with lambs at foot : Texel £122 Stone Lodge, £83, £78 Glebelands, £78 Yew Tree Greyfaced £84 Penny Hill Park, £77, £68, £61 Roan Garth Zwartbles £80 Penny Hill Park.
