Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 2^nd July Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store bulls and weanling cattle.  A smaller entry was forward this week with the current impact of the new Blue Tongue restrictions.  However, those that attended were more than rewarded with trade being up £120-£150 up on last weeks trade.  Bulls met a magnificent enquiry with an average of £1590.  Topping the section went to Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall selling to £2490.  This run of four went on to average £2350.  Messrs Horn, Lower Griseburn sold 2 Limousin bulls to £2350 topping at £2420.  Mark Batty & Zoe Hall , Westerhouses travelled down over the border with 5 terrific 11 month Limousin steers to top at £2290 and averaging £2086 ensuring no lack of buyers in Ring 4.  Heifers topped at £2100 for a pair of Superb Devon heifers from Messrs Maw, Wintershields.  Messrs Errington, Lowther Moor sold 6 Hereford heifers to average £1478.33.  No issues with restrictions in Borderway in buyers from Essex to Devon present in the most talked about cattle ring.
