PRIME AND CAST SHEEP

PRIME LAMBS: On Monday 7th July 2025 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of prime lambs and cast sheep which saw a strong local support for all sections, ewes kicked the day off in style selling to an incredible £475 for a texel ewe the likes are rarely seen from Gary Bell, Haas Side, Lockerbie this one sold to our fantastic  weekly  supporters Yorkshire Halal Ltd, Ossett. £200 was no barrier for ewes with weight and meat with pen after pen sailing over this magical milestone, with indeed all types selling at super rates. Lambs continue to be slow coming forward and this has seen demand really soar, an overall average of 375p was achieved and weight and meat is readily sold to advantage , first time vendors Messrs Moralee, Hardriding, Hexham brought 59 lambs to Borderway and left elated averaging 444.44p to a sale topping £280 and 608.9p for a 46kg weapon which was purchased by great supporters Bowland Foods Ltd who also purchased North pen of 41kg Beltex at £220 from this home , Preston heavy Suffolk lambs sold to £220 from Maxwell farming, Druid Hall Dumfries , more needed next week, results like these are hard to find.
