Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 16^th July 2025 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale 209 store cattle.  Trade once again saw a rise, and had it not been for a few very plain Cattle forward we would have today averaged back over £2000 all in, however, even with these forward an overall average of £1989.50 was achieved, a rise of £85 on the week. Chris and Terry Beattie, Ratlinggate, Carlisle consigned a great run of cattle and topped the trade for bullocks at £2760 and heifers at £2440 with their consignment levelling at £2472.78.  Natives to £2600 for Angus from Messrs Grice, Newtown, Carlisle. The leading average of the day was posted by Messrs Holliday Newbampton Farm, Wigton who sold 11 dairy bred bullocks to average £2474.55 with their best, a Charolais cross topping the dairy bred bullocks at £2520.
