Border & Lakeland Holstein Club Sale

FEIZOR LEAD TRADE

The July Border & Lakeland Club Show & Sale offered outstanding pedigrees with quality cows and heifers to match. Trade topped at 3500gns with Holstein heifers in milk averaging £2934.61.

The pre-sale show was sponsored by Finance For Farms and was judged by Brian Davidson, Errolston Holsteins. He selected Feizor Lemagic S Neoma from WA & A Booth as the overall champion. She is a Lemagic daughter out of Feizor Secretariat G Neoma EX91-2E SP LP50 and backed by 9 generations of VG and EX dams. Fresh at the end of June she sold to Messrs Talbot, Ribchester.

Reserve Champion went to Phil Potts’ Davinci daughter Potts Davinci Alba 2. She is backed by 10 generations of Excellent dams. Calved in May, she also sold to Messrs Talbot.

The Booth family had a successful day selling 8 heifers to average £3342.50. They sold the top price at 3500gns for Feizor Doorman W Lasenza 3, a June calved heifer backed by 6 generations of VG and EX dams. She heads to Mossbog Holsteins in Ayrshire for the Borland family. The Booths also sold the second top price at 3300gns, this was Feizor Pepper A Melody 2, backed by 10 generations of VG and EX.

First prize cow was Berryholme Bad Erle from H Wright & Son, this second lactation cow by Castel Bad is backed by 10 generations of VG and EX dams with her grand-dam the successful show cow Mikali Seaver D Erle VG89.

The Lochhead family sold 14 Brown Swiss cows and heifers to a top of 2300gns for Kedar Amir Rhaphrodisiac, a February 2023-born heifer that calved in April and is served back to Swiss Gen Capucino Cech. She is backed by 5 generations of VG and EX dams and sold giving 26kg a day to Messrs Farish, Newton Arlosh, Wigton.

The next dairy sale at Borderway takes place on Wednesday 23^rd July and features the dispersal of 237 dairy cattle from the Greenmoorside herd.
