Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart Held Their Weekly Sale Of Prime Sheep On Tuesday Evening When 3066 Prime Sheep Where Forward Consisting Of 1852 Spring Lambs and 1214 Cast Sheep, which totals 940 more sold on the same week last year!

Topping the sale at £226 was a 60kg Texel cross lambs from Messrs Fairburn, Marriforth, Ripon.

Topping at 510p/kg where a pen of three 40kg Beltex cross lambs which made £204 from Messrs Gargett, Westwick Farm, Barnard Castle.

Messrs Sowerby, Terrys Farm, Ormside sold 50kg Texel cross lambs to make £222 selling to Dowdings Butchers, Appleby.

This home also sold a pen of 41kg Texel lambs to make £200 (487.8p/kg).

Messrs Lawson, Stubsgill Farm, Workington sold a pair of 61kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £220.

Charlotte & Georgia Davies, Top Field Farm, Leicester sold 43kg Beltex cross lambs to make £200, with this home also selling a pen of eight 41kg lambs to make £196 (478p/kg), a pen of fifteen 40kg at £190 (475p/kg).

Messrs Dodd, Skylin, Temple Sowerby sold a pen of three 40kg lambs to make £195 (487.5p/kg), with a pen of six 41kg at £199 (485.4p/kg).

Messrs Pickard, Cheney House Farm, Leicestershire sold a pen of twenty one 40kg lambs to make £186 (465p/kg) with a pen of fourteen 41kg making £187.

Messrs Hill & Wright, Mill Farm, Doncaster sold a pen of ten 41kg at £189 (461p/kg) a pen of sixteen 41kg at £187 and a pen of five 40kg at £186 (465p/kg)

Heavy lambs where once again a flying trade for all classes, with 50kg Texel cross lambs making £210 (420p/kg) from Messrs Teasdale, Lynsack Farm, Bishop Auckland.

Messrs Procter, Hillcrest, Great Musgrave sold 61kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £218.

Messrs Todd, Victoria Cottages, Bishop Auckland sold a pen of 54kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £209 (387p/kg) with this home also selling a pen of fourty 46kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £174 (378.3p/kg) with another pen of twenty two 47kg Suffolks making £175.50, 373.4p/kg from this home.

Messrs Blacklidge, Green Croft, Richmond sold a pen of seven 50kg Suffolk cross lambs to make £187 (374p/kg).

Messrs Ewin, Black Syke, Sandford sold a pen of five 48kg Suffolk cross lambs at £180 (375p/kg).

Mule lambs sold to £175 for a pair of 53kg from Messrs Wells, Middle Shipley Farm, Bishop Auckland.

Messrs Bolton, Snow Hall Farms, Darlington sold 46kg mule lambs to £153.

An SQQ of 368.14p/kg and an overall sale average of 368.22p/kg and £158.72 was achieved for a much more commercial and lesser fed show of lambs forward.

Thirty one pens and 104 lambs sold between £190 - £226.

Sixty seven pens and 270 lambs sold between £180 - £226.

Thirty three pens and 240 lambs sold 420 – 510p/kg.

Topping at sale at £282 was a Texel cross ewe from Messrs Chester, Grassgill Lodge, Soulby.

Messrs Millar, Crookholm Farm, Canonbie sell Texel ewes to £270, with another pen of for making £265.

Messrs Lawson, Stubsgill Farm, Workington sold Texel ewes to £262, with a pair of Beltex cross ewes making £248 also from this home.

Mule ewes sold to £188 for a pen from Messrs Bell, The Park Wall, Nateby.

A pen of eight Lleyn ewes sold to make £188 from Messrs Jenkinson, Whingill, Hartley.

Swaledale ewes topped at £150 for a pair from Messrs Coulthard, Bridge End Farm, Bishop Auckland.

Cast Rams topped at £268 for a Texel from Hollins View Farm, Brough Sowerby.
