STORE LAMBS – OPENING SALE

On Thursday 24th July Harrison & Hetherington held its opening sale of store lambs in Lazonby Market.

A sale average of £108.51 was achieved (£11 on 2024) with bigger lambs meeting a blistering trade while long term lambs kept up with recent sales. Topping the sale went to Mr Willie and Connor Lee, Lintley for a pen of 12 Texels selling to £152 the same home sold 21 to £148 & £147 selling 44 to average £148.84. Andrew Stainton sold a single texel lamb to £148 and 9 to £133. 18 lots went to sell for £120 or more. Suffolks shown by Mr Robert Pickthall, Mains Farm sold 19 to £128 & £119. Mule lambs topped at £117 for a pen of 25 from Phillip Dawson, The Lodge. Val & Robert Edmonson sold 17 to £114. Messrs Thompson, Howburn sold 28 early born mules to £97.50.

Many more needed to satisfy demand in Lazonby. Our next sale is on the 7th of August.
