Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

A poorer quality show of cattle still met with plenty of interest from far and wide.  All quality cattle stay a fantastic trade however plainer types are slightly harder work.  Bullocks topped at £1365 for a Limousin from Messrs Wilson, Belzies.  The same home also had other bullocks at £1300, £1175 and £1125.  Aberdeen Angus bullocks topped at £1150 from N Johnstone, Logan Mains and Beef Shorthorns to £1200 from Messrs Lockhart, Greenbeck.  British Blue bullocks sold to £1140 again from Messrs Johnstone, Logan Mains.  Heifers topped at £1125 for a Blonde from Messrs McArthur, Todholes.  Despite the lack of growth younger cattle still looked a solid trade throughout with Salers yearlings up to 284ppk from Messrs Goldie of Greenfields and the same age Charolais to 284ppk from the same home.
