Wooler Prime Sheep Sale

At Wooler on Wednesday 26^th May Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of primestock selling 701 prime sheep comprising 382 Lambs, 128 Hoggs and 191 Cast Ewes and Rams

As the spring lambs start arriving more customers about generating a great atmosphere around the market, all complying with covid rules.

Lambs:

Another good day with another strong ring of Wholesalers and Butchers

Heavies met serious bidding while an increase of lighter weights were sold taking an advantage of recent high rates.

Sale was topped @ £177 (50kg) from Barelees to A & J Traves, York

Trade buoyant throughout for all classes of cast sheep, with numbers short of buyer’s requirements

For the second week running, R & J Barber Farms, Newham Hall collect the accolade for the top price ewe with a smart Texel at £180, purchased by regular ewe buyer Mr Jeff Dunn.
