Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 26th May Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their sale of young calves with an entry of 352 forward.  A much increased trade was had for all classes or calves with a good ring side of buyers being present with renewed optimism.  Topping the sale were a pair of British Blue bulls from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown selling for £605 whose run of 16 averaged out at £551.25.  Heifers topped at £525 for a strong British Blue from T & AW Wadsworth, Newton Stewart.  Dairy bred calves were once again an exceptional  trade with Holstein  Friesians topping at £335 from Messrs Vevers, High Plains with many more selling in excess of £200.
