On Wednesday 30th July 2025 Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of Store cattle with a larger show forward whereby steers saw an average of £2022.79 (+27.96) on the week and heifers £1887.97 (+£60.01). Top overall of £2680 went to a Limousin cross steer from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton. Charolais to £2620 from Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown. Herefords to £2520 from Messrs Barrow, Pow Head, Wigton and best Beef Shorthorn sold to £2480 from Gelt Hall.
Heifers peaked at £2500 for a Beef Shorthorn cross from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall, Brampton. Limousin to £2420 from Messrs Beattie, Ratlinggate, Carlisle. Charolais to £2380 from Messrs Slack, Cockleybank, Brampton and finally British Blues to £2320 from Messrs Wilson, Grange Farm, Egremont.
Black and whites were also flying seeing a top of £2260 for a Friesian from Gelt Hall, Brampton. £2240 from Messrs Graham, Stubbyknowe, Gretna for Holstein and Fleckviehs to £2040 from Messrs Hodgson, White House, Penrith
