CAST COWS: A larger show of 249 Cast cows and stock bulls was forward with a new buyers ensuring that Borderway is the only market to sell cast cows.

D A Harrison, Hill House Farm, sold a Limousin x cow for 679kg, 421.5p £2861 to Ed Nield.  Messrs Nixon, Hunters Hall sold a 6 year old Limousin cow for 706kg, 377.5p £2665 to Owain Llyr.  Mary Brown, Housenrigg Farm sold a 5 year old Limousin cow for 699kg, 375.5p £2624 to Owain Llyr.  Norman Batty, Church Road sold a Limousin x for 585kg, 373.5p £2184 to Ed Nield.  Messrs Nimmo, Bogside Farm run of Limousin cows topped at 754kg, 365.5p £2755 and 770kg 349.5p to £2691 bought by Owain Llyr and Charles Kirkpatrick. Messrs Betts, Bridge Farm sold a Limousin x heifer for 573kg, 355.5p £2037 to Les Fell.  Messrs Coulthard, Brisco Hall sold the top priced Simmental cow for 950kg 291.5 £2769 to Philip Bowes.  Messrs Walker, Balcraig Moor sold the top priced Angus cow for 895kg, 297.5 £2662 also to Philip Bowes.

All classes of Dairy cast cows would be up on the week with 19 over £2000. Messrs Johnston, Cote House Farm sold a Holstein x cow for 820kg, 277.5p £2275 to Chales Kirkpatrick.  Messrs Smithson, Skelcies Hall sold a Holstein x cow for 854kg, 263.5p £2250 also to Charles Kirkpatrick.  Castlesteads Farm run of Holstein x cows topped at 906kg, 247.5p, £2242 to Les Fell. David Harrison, Dundraw Farm run of Holstein x cow topped at 894kg, 247.5p £2212 to Les Fell.  Messrs Little & Son, Kirkbride House sold a Norwegian Red heifer for 658kg, 327.5p £2154 to Les Fell. Messrs Barrow & Sons, Helm Farm sold a Holstein x heifer for 596kg, 327.5p £1951 to Les Fell.
