Kirkby Stephen OTM and Cast Cow Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of cast and OTM cattle.

Topping the sale at £2445.75 was a Cast Shorthorn bull which weighed 961kg and sold for 254.5p/kg from Messrs Heron, Eastfield Farm, Warcup.

Topping the cows at £1981.11 was a 749kg pure Hereford which made 264.5p/kg from Messrs Hall, Sedbury Home Farm, Richmond, with this home also selling 750kg Hereford cows to 263.5p/kg £1976.25 and others to 265.5p/kg. this consignment of fourteen Pure Hereford cows sold to average 650kg 256.2p/kg £1667.16.

Dairy cows topped at £1770.25 for a eight year old 730kg cow which made 242.5p/kg from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Longdale, Tebay.
