On Wednesday 13^th August Harrison and Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves.  Trade increased on the week for a younger show with 304 forward. Messrs Naylor, Hill Green, Holmrook kindly donated a calf to the Air Ambulance this made £760 to TJ Ball. The sale topped at £980 for a fantastic British Blue bull from TW Martin, Tempest Tower. DJ Livingstone, Kirtlevale, Gretna sold Limousin bulls to £890. Aberdeen Angus bulls topped at £870 from R Pigg & Son, Gaitsgill Hall. JW & VI Naylor, Hill Green, Drigg sold Limousin calves to £830 and British Blues to £800. LJ Wilson, Bridge View, Wigton had Limousin calves to £750. B & H Johnstone, Nether Auchenreoch, Castle Douglas sold Limousin bulls to £730. TW Martin, Tempest Tower topped the heifers with a British Blue at £800they also had them at £765. DJ Livingstone, Kirtlevale, Gretna sold Limousin Heifers to £750. McCreery Farms, Low Malzie, Newton Stewart sold British Blues to £745. DT Miller, Crookdake Mill, Wigton sold a 2 month old Charolais to £660.

Black and whites sold to £525 for a 2 month Friesian from A & M Kennedy, Grougfoot, Linlithgow. JW & VI Naylor, Hill Green sold to £500. Holstein were at £385 from Messrs McCalmley, Knockshiffnock. Blue Tongue Vaccinated calves sold to Premium Prices. With many seen £100 dearer.
