On Wednesday 13^th August Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store bulls and weaned cattle in Ring 4. A smaller entry of 155 were forward & despite the heat and a few buyers missing due to harvest we managed to average £1315.81. A sale of 55 bulls was forward to average £1490.91. topping the sale went to a single Limousin from WJB Cleasby, Linden House selling for £1490.91 this run of 4 went onto average £1627.5. Messrs Metcalfe, Bowrake sold 20 8/9 month old Limousin Bulls to average £1614. Topping at £2070 for a single. Messrs Burrow, Lodges Farm sold a British Blue 11 month bull to £2010. Steers topped at £220 for a single Limousin steer from Zoe Hall, Hosleyhill this run of 5 averaged an astounding £2158. John Browell, Quarry Farm sold 4 Limousin beef bred calves to £1730 topping at £1980. Messrs Forster, Desoglim sold 20 Holstein Friesian steers to average £924 topping at £1000 for a pen of 9. Heifers topped at £1720 from Messrs Stephenson, Winter Tarn for a single Aberdeen Angus. Messrs Jackson, Burnells sold 16 British Blue heifers topping at £1450 for 2 going to average £1205.
