HOT COCO WAS STEAMING AT BORDERWAY
The August Border & Lakeland Club Show & Sale offered outstanding pedigrees with quality cows and heifers to match. Trade topped at 5,200gns with Holstein heifers in milk averaging £2942 with 50% of the sale selling for or more than £3000.
The pre-sale show was sponsored by Paragon Veterinary Group and was judged by Peter Cotton from Chasmar Holsteins in Derbyshire. He selected Espland Lambda Barbie 4 from Alan Cannon as his Overall Champion. She was bred from the PR Barbie cow family with her fourth dam being the million-dollar sensation, Regnacrest Brasilia. This super udder cow sold for 2,750gns to Seathill Farms Ltd. The Espland herd sold another six animals to average £2983 including Espland Adorable Mahala 3 who sold for 3,300gns.

Kings-Ransom Dropbox sired the Reserve Champion, this was the first milking daughter of the great bull to sell in milk at Borderway. She was consigned by David Wright from the Berryholme herd in Kendal and was bought by Mr Mitchell from Stranraer for 2,800gns. She was bred from the Hope family going back to the famous Acme Holstein herd in Western Canada.

The sale topper was consigned by James Robinson from Appleby selling for 5,200gns to the Baltier Herd in Newton Stewart. Bailmoor BHC Lambda Coco had a world class udder and will show as a Junior 2 year old in next months National Holstein Show. Her third dam was 2020 All American Mature Cow winning grand Champion at the North American Open in the same year.
Berryholme Holsteins sold four exceptional animals to average almost £3400 including Berryholme Rager Flo 2 who sold for 3,850gns to Mr Talbot from Preston. She was bred from six excellent dams that included the three National Champions from this famous line: Eclipse Flo, Storm Flo & Shottle Flo!
Stowbeck Holsteins sold nine outstanding heifers all producing oceans of milk from classy udders to average £3091. They topped at 3,500gns for Stowbeck Luster Mavis and daughter of Luster P with her first three dams all classified Excellent.
