Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 3^rd September Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of weanling cattle.  A larger show of 289 ware forward to a total sale average of £1260.42 being achieved.  A total of 97 bulls were forward with a total section average of £1189.90.  Topping the section went to a single Pedigree bull selling to £2900 from Ballyakilley Farm.  The same home sold 4 to average £2295.  Messrs Mounsey, Wardhall sold a year old Limousin bull to £2500.  British Friesians bulls met a pleasant trade with Messrs Baty, Flimby sold four, year old bulls to £1190, alongside Messrs Mitchell, Grassknop selling five to £1060.  Steers topped at £2000 for a single Limousin from Messrs Robinson, Woodhall who sold four to average £1770.  Neville and Alison Bainbridge, Laneside sold six 11 month old Limousin steers averaging £1731.67 topping at £1780.  Stuart Whitfield, Baty Shield sold a run of 11 Limousin steers to average £1511.82 topping at £1610 for a pen of five.  Heifers averaged at £1235.13 topping at £2160 from RP Crawford, Kendal.  Messrs Parsons, Slealands sold a single heifer Limousin to £1520.
