Inland Pasture Commercial Breeding Cattle Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

The Dispersal Sale of the Inland Pasture commercial breeding cattle beef herd on behalf of Simon & June Cadzow, Berwick upon Tweed, took place at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 4th June.

A huge crowd of prospective purchasers from all corners of the UK and including Northern Ireland were both present ringside and online.  What was presented before them was one of the finest yards of commercial cattle ever seen in this centre, being a true testiment to the hard work, attention to detail and sharp eye Simon has utilised over the years.

Stealing the show was the 7 year old Limousin stock bull Ampertaine Jackpot, sired by Ampertaine Elgin out of Ampertaine Bathsheba who also produced Ampertaine Foreman. The calves he left were of astonishing quality and consistency, this resulted in him being subject to great commercial and pedigree interest.  After strong competition he sold at £20,000 to Harry Emslie, Peterhead.

Ampertaine Jackpot - £20,000

Solway View Levi - £11,000

83 stock cows with spring born calves at foot sold to average £2312.89.  Leading this section was Lot 70 a British Blue cross 2nd calved cow, sired by Netherdale Dallas, suckling a smart British Blue heifer calf at foot by Solway View Levi.  She sold at £4300 to regular buyers, RN & RA Scott, Wigton.

Second top priced Cow & Calf outfit - £5300

47 heifers with calves at foot were subject to fantastic interest and rightly so as they averaged an incredible £3180.85 with 3 outfits selling at £5000 or more to a top price of £6000 for Lot 117 a British Blue heifer suckling an exceptional Ampertaine Jackpot sired steer calf. She sold to C Williams & P Tippetts, Shifnal.

42 yearling heifers averaged £1279.76 and sold to a leading price tag of £1600 for a pair of flashy black heifers, one sired by Solway View Levi and the other by Ampertaine Lucifer.  They both sold to G Corrie, Newtownards, Northern Ireland.

57 bulling heifers averaged £1660.70 and sold to a top price of £2300 for a Limousin cross which was knocked down to neighbouring farms, D Whiteford & Co, Scremerston who secured many top lots on the day.

Harrison & Hetherington wish to extend their thanks to Simon & June Cadzow and their family for instructing them to conduct their sale and wish them well for the future.
