Borderway Store and Breeding Sheep Sale

On Monday 6^th October, the weekly sale of Breeding sheep and store lambs took place.  Breeding ewes saw an increased demand with top price going to R & E Norman, The Bow selling three Texel shearlings to £220 a life.  This run of 23 averaged £207.  Messrs Dean, Talkin Head sold 13 Suffolk ewe lambs to £172.  Messrs Soulsby, Williamsgill sold three Suffolk tup lambs to average £450 topping at £520.

Store lambs saw a significant rise on the week with all lambs being £5-£6 dearer on last week.  Topping was a single Beltex from Messrs Armstrong, Town Head selling to £148.  Messrs Clarkson, Elrington Hall sold 100 Suffolk and Texel to £120.50.  Mike and Marie Faulder, Ewan Close sold 32 Beltex lambs to £132.91 topping at £144 for a pen of five, mules topped at £102 for a pen of 24 from Messrs Lord, The Bog.  David Mattinson brought 72 cross lambs to average £112.49 topping at £115 for a pen of Suffolks.
