Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 8th October Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Calves were dearer on the week, especially aged 3-6 weeks selling regularly £500-£600 plus.  Topping trade was 4 Angus bulls from the Campbells at Carsewalloch selling to £880, they also sold bulls to £800.  T W Martin, Tempest Tower sold a great Blue bull to £850.  Messrs Sim, Chapel House sold two Angus to £840.  Messrs Kirkpatrick, Howthat sold a 1 month Simental bull to £835.  Messrs Reid, Redhall sold 4 Angus bulls to £830.  Messrs Beard, Dormansteads sold a 2 month blue to £800.  TA & ML Jackson, Guillyhill sold a 4 month Limousin to £770.

Lindsay Reid, Redhall topped the heifers at £870 for two Angus.  Messrs Pigg, Gaitsgill had Blues to £760.  Mess Byers, Whitehills sold to £705.  Black and whites sold to £635 from JB Sloan, Panlands.  More required weekly to satisfy buyers demand.
