AUCHENLECK HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN DISPERSAL SALE

WEDNESDAY 8^TH OCTOBER 2025

The dispersal of the Auchenleck Holstein Friesian herd took place at Borderway on 8^th October with buyers recorded from 10 counties across the UK.  Trade topped at 3,700gns with the overall average for heifers in milk coming to £2825.

The Auchenleck herd was owned and managed by the Marshall family who have farmed at Auchenleck Farm in the South West of Scotland since 1926.  The farm is situated above the picturesque Balcary Bay with amazing view across the Solway Firth.   The herd attracted buyers from near and far with their impressive frames, legs and feet and the quality of udder across the herd was to an exceptional level.  

Topping the sale at 3,700gns was a special heifer in milk sired by Denovo Sargent, she was recently calved and had an exceptional mammary.  She was bought by the Ramsay family from Stranraer.   

Milking heifers averaged £2825 with another Denovo Sargent daughter selling for 3,600gns to the Fishers from Kirkcudbright.

Five other cows sold for 3,600gns sired by Kopeon Raptor and Het Ken Gray and were bought by Ramsay family from Stranraer.

In-Calf heifers topped at 3,200gns for a September 2023-born heifer sired by Denovo Sargent and due in November to Denovo Highview.  She was secured by Messrs Fisher from Kirkcudbright.
