Sale Of Swaledale Rams
On Monday 8th October, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held the annual show and sale of Swaledale Rams on behalf of A District. A sale average of £1548 showed a good mark up on last years price, however the smaller end of tups proved very difficult to place with such powerful types in fashion. The days champion was consigned by Messrs Hutchinson, Valley Farm with the first prize large breeders tup he sold at £3500 to Messrs Hundley, Thornton Hall. The first prize small breeders tup sold at £10,000 this was shown by Eddie Thompson, High Corn Park and sold in a 2 way split to The Velley & West Brisco. Leading the trade at £12,000 was the 5th prize large breeders tup from The Valley which sold in a 2 way split to Overthwaite & West Briscoe.
