Kirkby Stephen SSBS 'C'District Ram Sale Day 3

Harrison & Hetherington held the third day of the annual Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association ‘C’ District ram sale on Friday. 

The sale topped at £38,000 for Barley Meadow MNP 1^st from RJ Hargreaves, Meadow Bank, Barley whish sold to Messrs Cockbain, Rakefoot Farm, Keswick; Messrs Hutton, Setmabanning Farm, Keswick and Messrs Marston, Millstone Moor, Cockermouth.

Messrs Ewbank, Intake Farm, Harrogate sold Intake PH 2^nd to £35,000 selling to Messrs Hutchinson, Old Spital Farm, Bowes; Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen and Messrs Hird, Gillfield, Barnard Castle.

Messrs Hargreaves, Meadow Bank also sold Meadow Bank BT10 1^st to reach £25,000 selling to Messrs Hutchinson, Valley Farm, Barnard Castle and Messrs Allinson, West Briscoe, Barnard Castle.

Messe Booth, Low Bank House Farm, Austwick sold Smearsett Turbo to £24000 selling to Messrs White, Rigg Farm, Lunesdale and Messrs Ridley, Haltcliffe Farm, Hesket Newmarket.

Messrs Cockbbain, Rakefoot, Keswick sold Rakefoot Virgil to reach £22,000 selling to Messrs Tennant, Hemplands Farm, Skipton and Messrs Tennant, Low Bucker House Farm, Skipton.

Messrs Thornborrow, Brystone, West Stonesdale sold the champion of the day to reach £20,000 selling to Messrs Whitehead, Kisdon, Richmond; Messrs Brogden, Helbeck Farm, Brough and Messrs Robinson, Catlow Farm, Clitheroe.

An overall sale average of £2996.40 was achieved with an overall clearance rate of 84%.

A fantastic overall average of £3140.03 (up £583.07 on the year) for the shearlings for the two days was achieved with an overall clearance rate of 84%.
