On Monday 20^th October the weekly store lamb and breeding sale took place in Borderway.  A similar entry was forward on the week with a very good show right through with second draw lambs being the trade of the day.  Topping the sale went to Mr Armstrong, Longtown selling a single Beltex lamb to £157.  Texel lambs topped at £140 from M & CA Watson, Millrigg.  Suffolks topped at £138 from Tom Soulsby, Penrith.  Mules topped at £96 for a pen of 24 from Richard Lord, The Bog.  A strong consignment of sellers made the trip to Borderway from West Cumbria with long term lambs described as pounds dearer than other outlets.  A growing confidence is visible in Borderway with our determination to make the most for our customers.  Long term lambs sold well with £100-£110 while short term lambs sold well over £110 regular.  More are needed to satisfy demand.
