THURSDAY 16th OCTOBER 2025

On Thursday 16th October Harrison & Hetherington held the fortnightly sale of store lambs in Lazonby Market. A total of 1648 went on to average £87 which given over 1000 were mules and Swaledale lambs were a delightful trade. Topping the day was James Raine, Randalholme selling a pen of 49 Beltex lambs for £132. Texel lambs topped at £127 for a pen of 24 from D & S Robinson, Hawksteal. Mule lambs remained buoyant with a breed average of £90.21 being achieved which is remarkable given customers are now a long way through straw, topping was a pen from Phillip Dawson, The Lodge selling to £121. Stronger lambs sold well beyond £100 with long term lambs selling to £85/£95. A strong lineup of Swaledale lambs were also forward topping at £62 for a pen of 20 from Messrs Lee, Agars Hill.
