Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 22nd October Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale with an entry of 283 calves.  Trade was more selective with buyers more cautious on certain sections.  Top of the day was a tremendous Blue bull from Andrew Vance, Portyerrock, Newton Stewart at £930.  They also had them at £910.  TW Martin, Tempest Tower, Carlisle brought at tremendous consignment topping at £900 for a 3 month old bull.  B & H Johnstone, Nether Auchenreoch, Castle Douglas topped at £830 for a Blue.  They also sold Limousins to £810.  Messrs Beard, Dormanstead had Angus to £770.

Heifers topped at £880 for T W Martin, Tempest Tower with others to £760 and £700.  Messrs Johnstone, Nether Auchreoch had Limousins at £760.  Messrs Farish, East Farm, had a 1 month Charolais heifers to £740.  J & R Ramsey, Lodge of Kelton had a great pen of six Angus heifers to £760.
