Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday the 22nd October Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle. 

513 cattle catalogued this week met a fantastic trade from the offset with every shape size and indeed breed in big demand.  This week two Bullocks led the way at £2560 being a Limousin from Messrs Forrester, Cobble Hall, Penrith and an Angus from Messrs Smith, Campingholm, Gretna.  Dairy bullocks sold to £2150 for Danish Reds from Grahame and Linda Hewitt, Cardewlees, Wigton.  Messrs Smith also topped the heifers at £2580 with Limousins, with natives to £2200 from Robbie Graham, Messrs Fell, Harley Croft, Wigton. Freemartin Holsteins sold to £1810 for a pair of Holsteins from Messrs Little, Marylands, Carlisle.
