Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their fortnightly Sale of 34 cast and OTM cattle.

Topping at £2490.08 was eight year old Simmental cross cow which weighed 945kg to make 263.5p/kg from Messrs Millar, Crookholm Farm, Canonbie selling to D Barker with this home also selling a eight year old Limousin cross cow weighting 828kg to make £2479.86 (299.5p/kg) purchased by D Barker, Scarborough.

Topping at 379.5p per kilo was a British Blue cross cow from Messrs Capstick, High Lane, also purchased by D Barker.

Messrs Dobson, White Kirkley Farm, Bishop Auckland sold a six year old non-uk Limousin cross cow weighing 776kg to make 305.5p/kg totalling £2370.68 selling to D Barker.

Messrs Owen, Sandwath Farm, Kirkby Stephen sold a nine year old Limousin cross cow weighing 866kg making £2377.17 (274.5p/kg)

Dairy cows topped at £2031.48 and 256.5p/kg for a Friesian cow from Messrs Beck, Townfoot, Longdale.

Messrs Marston, South View, Winton sold Norwegian Red cow to make £1952.87 (243.5p/kg).

All classes and breed of cast cows were a flying trade with an overall sale average of £1801.23 and 262.5p/kg being achieved.
