Borderway Weaned Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 29th October Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of weaned cattle and bulls.  An increased entry of 327 stirks were forward with a mixed show but all classes were in demand.

92 bulls were on offer with 21 selling for £2000 or more.   Messrs Mundell, Victoria House Limousin bulls topped at £2520.  Messrs Brown & Co, Mosshead Farm Limousin bulls topped at £2340.  Messrs Goldie, Greenfield sold the top priced Charolais x bull for £2340.  Messrs Rushton, Nirvana sold the top priced Blue x bull for £2280.  Messrs Clark & Son, Braithwaite New Farm, topped the Limousin heifers selling for £1960 with Messrs Litt, Greengill Farm selling a Limousin heifer for £1900 and £1740 for Limousin bullocks.  Messrs Atkinson, Brackenthwaite Farm sold the top priced Angus bullock for £1770. Finally,  Messrs Park, Wetherall Shields sold two Simmental x bullocks for £1760.
