On Wednesday 5^th November Harrison and Hetherington the weekly sale of weaned cattle and bulls took place in Ring 4 in Borderway. A much larger show of 378 were forward and a larger show of 103 bulls were forward which would see stronger end of bulls harder to shift than previous weeks. Topping went to Huntly Lodge Farms with a single Limousin selling to £2390. Blonde Bulls topped at £1600 from Messrs Langcake, Cockermouth. British Blue bulls topped at £1680 from Messrs Elliot, Hallburn Craft. Charolais bulls topped at £1800 from Messrs Green, Melrose. Steers topped at £1920 for a trio of British Blues from Messrs Little, Maryland. Aberdeen Angus steers topped at £1820 from W Henderson, Lockerbie. Longhorn Steers topped at £1670 from Messrs Stobbart, Croglin High Hall. Herefords topped at £1710 from Messrs Lowthian, West Brownrigg. Heifers topped at £1920 from Messrs Wilson, Gate Farm for a pair of Limousin heifers. The same home sold to £1910 & 1900. This run of 16 averaged £1508 Blues topped at £1740 from Messrs Little, Maryland. Charolais heifers topped at £1380 from A C Telfer, Whitehaven. Messrs Spedding, Stoneflatt brought 20 Aberdeen Angus steers & heifers at 7/8months old averaging £1249.50 many more needed.
