On Monday 10th November Harrison & Hetherington saw the weekly sale of Store lambs take place in Carlisle. A larger show a forward with a sale average of £103.56 being achieved. The entry would see long term lambs as dear as the have been this season. Topping the sale went to a pen of Texel cross lambs from W & J Raine, Randalholme, selling to £141 for a pen of 12. Suffolk lambs topped at £120 for 7 from Messrs Bell, Moorfields. Blue Texel lambs topped at £129 from Hamish Currie, Carlisle. Swaledales peaked at £93 from John McCrone, Ivegill. Mules topped at £100 from Paul Wheatley, Penrith. First time vendor Edward & Ollie Dean, Kirkhouse attend with 40 and went on to average £127.70. Mike Bewley, Mid Farm brought 64 late born Beltex and Texel lambs to average £111.98. Many more can be sold to advantage.
