Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 12^th November Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves where calves were a flying trade with buyers from all over UK desperate for all shapes and kinds.  Trade topped at £900 for a tremendous 2 month Limousin bull from J Marshall & Son, Brownrigg, Lockerbie.  This home also had bulls to £740.  AV Elwen had 3 Blue bulls to £800.  W & D Threlkeld, Ladywells had Blues to £770 with JA Jenkinson, Fordsyke with Angus bulls to the same price.  They also sold to £760.  RJT & JM McDougal, Heathfield had a pair of 2 month Limousins to £765.  Messrs Reed, Mosside, Wigton sold Blue bulls to £745.  JR Heuchan, Gerranton had 1 month Angus bulls to £575. 

RT Pattinson, Kinkry Hill Farm, had 2 month Blue heifers to £760.  Messrs McDougal, Heathfield had Blue heifers to £730.  Turnbull Farming had Blue heifers to £710 and £700.  W & D Threlkeld, Ladywells had them to £700.  Cowhill Trust, Duncow had a pair of 1 month Charolais heifers to £690.  J Bailey, Moorhouse Hall sold 1 month blue heifers to £670.  J & W Cowan, Meikle Killantrae had 1 month old Holsteins to £295 and £275.
