Kirkby Stephen Store Cattle show & Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their Christmas Store Cattle show and sale.

Topping the sale at £2700 was the champion of the Christmas Store cattle show and sale a Limousin heifer from Messrs Pickles, Far Gearstones, Chapel le Dale which was purchased by D Barker, Scarborough.

This home also sold Limousin cross heifers to make £2585, £2485, £2300 and £2200, with the consignment of Limousin heifers from this home selling to average £2454.

Messrs Bradley, Penny Grange, Giggleswick sold a Limousin heifer to £2680 and £2485.

Messrs Lancaster, Roseleigh, Sandford sold 15 month old British Blue heifers to make £2355 with others from this home selling to £1900.

Messrs Hough, Park Grange Farm, made his way from Pontefract for the first time selling British Blue heifers to £2200 and £2015 with this home also selling Limousin cross heifer to £2000 with this home also winning first placed steer for a young Limousin steer which went on to sell for £1755.

Messrs Maughan, Clockeld, Great Asby sold Limousin cross steers to £1920.

Messrs Alderson, Howgill Grange, Baldersdale, another new vendor sold 14 month old British Blue steer to make £1875.

Messrs Bainbridge, Bonny Gate Farm, Soulby sold a pair of 15 month British Blue cross Holstein heifers to make £1805. With this home also selling 14 month old angus cross Holstein steer to £1605.

all classes of store cattle from dairy bred to good quality steers and heifers at all ages selling to a flying trade with all classes been sold well here at Kirkby Stephen and many more could have been sold.
